    Catching My Eye This Week:

    30th March 2017 /

Got to hand it to Tesco for their weird and wonderful creations, You might remember their chocolate truffle ‘Brussels Sprouts’ and ‘New Potatoes’ at Christmas? Well they’ve done it again with this combo’. We were doing a shop this evening and I ran over, last minute as you do, I ran over to the savoury snacks and crisps Isle to get some peanuts for the trip home and spotted these.. Strawberry, Dark Chocolate & Black Pepper Popcorn, how weirdly wonderful! They’re just like toffee popcorn in consistency, big chunks of dark chocolate and dried strawberry and then there’s the tingle on your tongue from the pepper afterwards. I’d quite like…

Top Tips:5 Steps To Heavenly Hair

    29th March 2017 /

A majority of people hate something about themselves, be it the colour of their eyes, the shape of their body, we always want what we don’t have, it’s a perfectly natural thing. For those with health issues, it’s often soul destroying when side effects take over too, either way you hair is something you CAN change so make the most of it! I’ve a slightly under-active thyroid so my hair and nails are as brittle as you can imagine! To make matters worse, I’ve been abusing my hair for the last decade, when I got my first straightener, I thought it was the most miraculous thing, it made my hair…

Wicklow Attractions: Mount Usher House & Gardens

    22nd March 2017 /

The other day Myself and Mr Creative Yoke decided to take advantage of our day off together and take a trip to Mount Usher House & Gardens in Ashford, Co. Wicklow. You know yourself, you don’t want to spend your day off at home with nothing to show for it. So, off we went, a gorgeous dewy March morning.. I hadn’t been to Mount Usher since I was about five years old, I remember things like the rope bridge and the house, you know how particular things stick out in your head..  Ten minutes from our house, we’d nothing to lose but take a trip for the day. Before you…

Jo Malone Candle Dupes at Aldi

    12th March 2017 /

I love Jo Malone as much as the next girl! The scent lasts all day and the feeling of femininity that accompanies it is just gorgeous,  I even chose it for my wedding, combining Red Rose Cologne with White Jasmine  & Mint, a heavenly scent to match my 1940’s themed wedding.. However.. their candles are divine but (I sound like a broken record here) saving for a mortgage restricts my luxuries.. Therefore I was delighted when Aldi came out with three dupes, Pomegranate Noir (LOVE IT), Lime Basil & Mandarin and Freesia Pear, They smell almost identical to the real thing priced at €52, but at €4.99, I’ll make do…

Girlie Afternoon Tea At ‘The G’ Hotel in Galway

    6th March 2017 /

While we’re on the topic of Afternoon Tea.. We also paid a visit to Galway on our Spring Break. I was well overdue a meet up with My friend and fellow blogger, Norma from ‘The House That Will’. Norma like myself, appreciates vintage and ladylike things like Afternoon Tea so what better to do than take a trip to The G Hotel? Norma can’t eat gluten and after ringing around, we were treated like we’d just called to ask if they could invite the Queen of England to come and join us.. one hotel said to me on the phone.. “well what do you expect, it’s afternoon tea, pastries and…

    Spring Break: Carton House Hotel

    2nd March 2017 /

We’ve just come back from a couple of days at Carton House, our wedding location from 2010. And I tell you, I feel like I’ve been given a new lease of life! If there’s one thing you do this Spring, treat yourself to the ‘Winter Wonderland’ package (now ‘Spring Sensation’) at Carton House. For €99 per person, you get dinner, accommodation and breakfast, how they can be making money from this I don’t know but I’d take it while it’s available. Included in your package is a €20 off voucher for certain spa treatments. We have been saving for pretty much over 4 years for this mortgage now and that’s…
